Case Studies & Testimonials

We at The Shade House, extend our sincere thanks to all our clients for providing us with such marvellous feedback that has made us proud.

Case Study #1

Brief

Enquiry received from client following previous work undertaken at their restaurant/tourist centre. They were looking for a product to enclose an expansive verandah/deck area thereby extending their dining area. The brief was a system that would not inhibit the mountain range/rural view, but would block out the winds, maintain light & sunshine and provide for evening dining/special functions.

Project Description

Following discussions with management and staff a consensus was reached to install the Channel-IT system, using removable posts not only to reduce the span widths we had to work with, but also posts that could be readily dismantled when blinds were not in use, to maintain the stunning rural views.

To further enhance the general décor and appearance the Channel-IT framing was left in its raw state rather than being powder-coated which complements and blends in beautifully with the building surrounds.

Diners now have the option of all the comforts while still retaining the views and a client who thinks Channel-IT 'is the best thing since sliced bread'

Case Study #2

Brief

Client requested to have Shade Sails over west facing deck, from gable end over front entry, out to stone wall.

Project Description

To achieve this we worked with the client to achieve a satisfactory design. Two sail poles were placed within the deck area, and one large sail pole in garden outside the stone wall.

The large shade sail has a support wire running through the centre, from the house out to the high pole to give extra height while still allowing the sail to drop down to the two side poles.

Two small triangular shade sails were added to the design to provide additional shade, attatching to poles and eyebolts, fixed to solid timber in the gable end.

Case Study #3

Brief

Enquiry received from client wanting to close in the upstairs indoor patio area, using a product other than glass. To block the wind, while still maintaining light and sunshine allowing full use of this space.

Project Description

Installing a Powder coated - Channel-IT System, was the best option matching in with the exterior house colour. Using a Clear fabric.

Pelmets were installed as an additional feature to cover the fabric roll at the top of the blinds.

The motorised option was decided on for ease of use. Bottom rails slide down side channels and lock into place at various levels giving the client more flexibility.
